Ordinary ceramic can only be made so thin before it loses strength. Laufen’s SaphirKeramik is tough enough to be formed into walls just a few millimetres thick, with sharp, almost folded edges which is why a Laufen basin can look more like a piece of folded paper than a traditional sink. The designers who shaped Laufen
Laufen leans hard into design collaboration. The playful, colourful Kartell by Laufen collection was created with Italian designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, while the pared-back Val and The New Classic ranges came from the German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic.
